Lee Cronin's The Mummy teaser is here! The makers have just dropped the first look teaser of the film, as it brings back the most classic tales with an "audacious and twisted retelling."
The official Instagram handle of Warner Bros. released the teaser with the caption, “Some things are meant to stay buried. #LeeCroninsTheMummy only in theaters April 17.”
The first teaser for the movie was released on Monday, giving viewers a sneak peek at the plot, which revolves around the discovery of a strange body that is entirely wrapped and photographers taking images of it.
With mere glimpses, the teaser advances to depict the emergence of a malevolent power. The preview shows a mummified body of a person who seems to be resurrecting amid a menacing chant in the background.
The preview ends on a spooky note when a spider emerges from the corpse.
The film’s official logline reads, “The young daughter of a journalist disappears into the desert without a trace--eight years later, the broken family is shocked when she is returned to them, as what should be a joyful reunion turns into a living nightmare.”
The Mummy, written and directed by Lee Cronin, stars Natalie Grace, May Calamawy, Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, and Veronica Falcon.

The original 1932 film The Mummy told the story of a mummified ancient Egyptian priest who, after unintentionally coming back to life, unleashes a potent curse. The movie gave rise to a late-90s series, which began with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz's 1999 reimagining of The Mummy.
According to Variety, the legendary pair will now reconvene for the fourth Mummy adventure with directors Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin.
