One of the most beloved children’s shows of all time, Sesame Street, is set to make its debut on Netflix for the very first time—an incredible fifty-six years after it first aired on television.
On November 3, Netflix shared an exciting sneak peek of the new season, releasing the first trailer along with images from upcoming episodes.
According to the streamer’s press release, the new Sesame Street episodes will “invite children to play along in new ways,” offering a fresh look inside the world’s most famous brownstone. The series will feature celebrity guests, original music, vibrant animation, and, of course, plenty of laughter that fans have loved for generations.
The first-look photos show familiar faces like Elmo, Bert, Ernie, Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby, Grover, and Rosita, all joining in fun and games across both live-action and animated segments.
The first episodes will begin streaming on Netflix on Monday, November 10, marking the show’s 56th anniversary.
Each episode will be designed as an interactive and visually rich 11-minute story that places young viewers right in the center of the experience. Episodes will roll out in three “volumes,” with the first volume featuring four half-hour episodes.
Netflix also announced that the show will be available in more than 30 languages, making Sesame Street accessible to children around the world.

Earlier in May, the streaming platform revealed that it had officially acquired the iconic, Emmy-winning series. For the first time in a decade, new Sesame Street episodes will also return to PBS, where the show first found its home.
Since its original premiere on November 10, 1969, Sesame Street has remained a cultural touchstone and the most celebrated children’s program in television history. Over the decades, it has earned an astonishing 200 Emmy Awards, several Peabody Awards, People’s Choice honors, and even a prestigious Kennedy Center Honor—cementing its legacy as a timeless favorite for generations of viewers.
