German actor Lars Eidinger has recently joined the star cast of the upcoming film Superman: The Man of Tomorrow. Filmmaker James Gunn has confirmed the latest casting.
The filmmaker took to his Instagram to announce the casting. James Gunn also revealed that Lars Eidinger will play the role of Brainiac in the film. Gunn shared the picture of Eidinger announcing the casting.
Alongside the picture the filmmaker penned in the caption, "In our worldwide search for Brainiac in Man of Tomorrow, Lars Eidinger rose to the top. Welcome to the DCU, Lars."
Nicholas Hoult and David Corenswet are also featured in the movie. In order to combat Brainiac, a significant menace, Superman (Corenswet) and Luthor (Hoult) will form an unexpected alliance.
Brainiac is a bald, green, superintelligent alien android with an insatiable desire to know everything there is to know about the cosmos. Writer Otto Binder and illustrator Al Plastino developed the DC Comics villain, who debuted in Action Comics #242 in July 1958. Nicholas Hoult will reprise his role as Lex Luthor.
Starring David Corenswet as Clark Kent, the first Superman movie was a huge hit, becoming one of the highest-grossing movies of 2025 and shattering box office records. Fans are eagerly anticipating what the Man of Steel will do next after such a successful debut.

Eidinger was recently seen in Jay Kelly. George Clooney and Adam Sandler starred in the comedy-drama, which was directed by Noah Baumbach.
Directed by James Gunn, the film is set to release in theatres on October 9, 2027.
