Lady Gaga doesn’t do things halfway — not in music, not on stage, and certainly not in love. So, when it came to celebrating her partner Michael Polansky’s 42nd birthday, she pulled out all the stops in her own heartfelt way.

The pop icon shared a series of sweet and intimate moments from their day together, calling it her “favourite day of the year.”

“Happy Birthday to my honey. I hope 42 is your best year yet, you have done so much in your 42 years I am so proud of you everyday and so grateful for this day you came into the world, it was the most special day. This is my favourite day of the year!” she wrote, alongside photos full of warmth and love.

The day itself sounded like something out of a quiet romantic film — simple, cosy, and full of meaning. “A crisp and almost rainy day, a long walk, with the backdrop of a sweet birthday smile and lots of daughter and angel food cake with chocolate sauce.

Even this goat knows what a happy day your birthday is to me I love you,” she added, showing her signature sense of humour and affection.

Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky, who got engaged in 2024 during a private rock climbing trip, have kept their relationship largely private — but the glimpses they share speak volumes.

Their engagement remained under wraps for months until they finally confirmed the news in July.

Gaga has often spoken about how involved Polansky is in her creative world. “Dreaming up this album, making the plan, building every vision with you, talking endlessly about what we would create and do for monsters has been an experience I could not have ever imagined.”

She continued, “I love how much you love my fans and want them to be happy… I'm forever grateful for how much you love and fight for me.”

And that love seems to fuel her. This year, Gaga was named Artist of the Year at the MTV VMAs and won Best Collaboration for Die With a Smile, her powerful duet with Bruno Mars.
