BLACKPINK’s Lisa might be about to add Disney princess to her already impressive résumé.
According to U.S. entertainment outlet Allkpop on 4 November, industry insiders say the Thai-born K-pop superstar is being considered for the lead role of Rapunzel in the live-action remake of Tangled.
For Lisa, this could be another thrilling chapter in her journey from global music sensation to screen star.
Disney has been looking for a fresh face to rejuvenate its fairytale franchise after the live-action Snow White, starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, didn’t hit the box office as expected.
Sources suggest Lisa’s massive worldwide fan following and natural charisma make her a strong contender to breathe new life into the beloved story of the long-haired heroine.
Other actresses reportedly in the mix include Florence Pugh and Sydney Sweeney, while Scarlett Johansson is rumoured to be cast as Mother Gothel, the villain who locks Rapunzel away.
The Tangled project itself had stalled after early casting efforts, but it has recently resumed under Michael Gracey, director of The Greatest Showman. Disney has not yet confirmed any official casting announcements.

Lisa isn’t new to acting — she made her debut earlier this year in HBO’s hit series The White Lotus Season 3, playing the character Mook.
Critics praised her for a natural and engaging performance, showing she can hold her own on screen beyond music videos and live performances. She’s also set to appear in Netflix’s upcoming action film Extraction: Tiger, further proving her versatility.
Fans have already begun imagining Lisa as Rapunzel, excited by the thought of her playful energy and charm translating into the iconic role.
