A fresh rumor is fueling excitement among Marvel fans: the first look at Avengers: Doomsday could arrive sooner than expected. According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, Marvel Studios may release the film’s first teaser in December 2025, attached to screenings of James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash, which hits theaters on December 19.
If this turns out to be true, audiences could get their first glimpse of the new Avengers film almost exactly a year ahead of its scheduled release.
This would not be the first time Marvel has teased a major crossover film well in advance.
Back in February 2017, a behind-the-scenes video for Avengers: Infinity War was released more than a year before the movie’s arrival, setting off months of speculation and hype. With Avengers: Doomsday being one of the crown jewels of Phase Six of the MCU, attaching a teaser to a massive global release like Avatar: Fire and Ash makes strategic sense.
It’s important to note, however, that nothing is confirmed. Neither Marvel Studios nor 20th Century Studios has announced the teaser’s release officially.
Richtman’s track record with accurate scoops adds weight to the rumor, but until Marvel makes a statement, fans should treat this as speculation.
Avengers: Doomsday has already completed filming and is currently in post-production. Details about the story remain under wraps, though the movie is set to be a massive ensemble crossover event.
Among the most talked-about details is the reported return of Robert Downey Jr., not as Tony Stark, but as Victor von Doom—Doctor Doom himself. His inclusion would mark a major turning point for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, positioning him as one of the central figures moving into the franchise’s future.
The film is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026, after being pushed back from its original 2025 date. It will be followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027, which is expected to close out Phase Six in dramatic fashion.
