Oscar-winning Hollywood veteran Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, were discovered dead in their New Mexico home, according to media reports on Thursday.

Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza confirmed that the couple was found dead along with their dog on Wednesday afternoon. Authorities have stated that there are no immediate signs of foul play. The news has been reported by multiple outlets, including Santa Fe New Mexican, Variety, and Sky News.

According to the Associated Press, foul play is not suspected in the deaths of Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa. However, authorities have not disclosed any details about the circumstances surrounding their passing, stating that an investigation is still ongoing.

Hackman, 95, and Arakawa, 63, were found dead in their New Mexico home. Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Denise Avila confirmed that deputies arrived at the residence on Wednesday at approximately 1:45 p.m. local time for a welfare check. Upon entering, they discovered the couple along with their dog, all deceased.

Gene Hackman was widely regarded as one of the most respected and accomplished actors in Hollywood. Over a career spanning more than six decades, he delivered unforgettable performances in a variety of iconic films.
