Sony SAB stars talk about Holi memories

Holi, the festival of colours, has always been a time to celebrate joy, togetherness, and cherished memories. Whether it's the laughter-filled childhood moments or the vibrant festivities with loved ones, Holi holds a special place in everyone's heart.

This year, the actors of Sony SAB—Aditya Redij, Priyanka Singh, Krishna Bharadwaj, Arav Chowdharry, and Naveen Pandita—share their fondest Holi memories and the essence of this much-loved festival.

Krishna Bharadwaj, who portrays Tenali Rama, fondly recalls his Holi celebrations: “Holi and gujiyas go hand in hand! I once attempted to make gujiyas at home, but they turned out more like samosas. My mother still teases me about it. On set, we often talk about our favourite Holi treats, and for me, nothing beats a plate of hot pakoras with thandai. As for pranks, I once mixed organic colours in a batch of thandai for my friends—it took them hours to figure out why their faces wouldn't wash off!"

Aditya Redij, who plays Krishnadevaraya in Tenali Rama, reflects on his evolving Holi memories: “Over the years, Holi has given me beautiful memories—some with family, some with friends, and now, the most special ones with my son. This time, while colours fill the air with joy, I plan to whip up some nutritious alternatives to our festive favourites. Wishing everyone a Happy and Safe Holi—may it be as vibrant as your hearts and as healthy as your choices!”

Arav Chowdharry, who plays Kesari in Veer Hanuman, shares his childhood Holi fun: “Growing up in Jaipur, Holi was a special day, starting 10 to 15 days early with water balloons and playing pranks on cyclists. Even now, Holi remains joyful, especially when celebrating with family and friends. I celebrate with organic gulal and enjoy listening to the energetic tunes of Balam Pichkari and Rang Barse."

Priyanka Singh, playing Tirumalamba in Tenali Rama, has fond memories of food and fun: “My mother makes the best gujiyas, and no Holi is complete without them. I also love chaat and remember tricking a cousin once by making an extra-spicy papdi chaat—his reaction was priceless! I recommend using herbal colours for better skin care.”

Naveen Pandita, who portrays Ashwin Patel in Pushpa Impossible, celebrates Holi with eco-friendly colours: “I love playing with eco-friendly colours, as Holi is all about vibrant hues. On set, we've had Holi scenes for the past two years, which has allowed us to celebrate the festival while filming. One of my memorable childhood moments was when my friends played a prank by throwing water balloons at me, completely catching me off guard!"

Catch Pushpa Impossible, Veer Hanuman, and Tenali Rama Monday to Saturday on Sony SAB.
