India's recent military operation, Operation Sindoor, which allegedly targeted terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), has drawn harsh criticism from prominent Pakistani celebrities.

Several prominent figures in Pakistan's entertainment sector expressed concern about the escalating tensions between the two countries, calling the operation "cowardly."

Among the most vocal was acclaimed actress Mahira Khan, who reposted a tweet by writer Fatima Bhutto criticising the Indian strikes. Khan added her own reaction via Instagram, stating: “Seriously cowardly!!! May Allah protect our country, may better sense prevail. Ameen.”

Another well-known actress, Hania Aamir, echoed similar sentiments in a short but pointed Instagram story, writing simply: “Cowardly.”

The recent digital restrictions on Pakistani celebrities' social media accounts have put Aamir in the public eye. Several Pakistani public figures, including Aamir, Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, and Ali Zafar, had their Instagram profiles geo-restricted in India after the 26-person Pahalgam terror attack on April 22. The message "Account not available in India. This is because we complied with a legal request to restrict this content." is now displayed to visitors from India.

Indian officials, however, defended the operation. Confirming the overnight strikes, the Indian government said they were "measured, precise, and non-escalatory," with the specific goal of targeting terror infrastructure without inciting wider conflict.

The Indian Army’s official account later affirmed the operation with a post reading: “Justice is served. Jai Hind.” Several political figures, including Union Ministers Kiren Rijiju and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, praised the military action, calling it a just response to avenge the victims of the Pahalgam attack.

Sources revealed that Operation Sindoor led to the deaths of at least 17 terrorists, with more than 60 others injured. The targeted airstrikes reportedly struck militant locations in Kotli, Ahmadpur Sharqia, Muzaffarabad, Muridke, and Faisalabad, avoiding Pakistani military facilities to prevent escalation.
