The highly anticipated Golden Globes 2025 is just around the corner, but some of Hollywood’s biggest names are reportedly set to skip the event. According to a report by Deadline, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, the stars of Deadpool & Wolverine, the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time, are not expected to attend the ceremony this Sunday. Blake Lively is also likely to be absent.
The decision by the trio to forego the Golden Globes was reportedly made well in advance and is unrelated to the ongoing legal controversy surrounding Lively and her It Ends With Us co-star and directo r, Justin Baldoni. Lively, who starred in and produced the Netflix romantic drama, is embroiled in a federal lawsuit against Baldoni, alleging sexual harassment during the film's production. The case has become a hot topic in Hollywood, casting a shadow over the award season buzz.
Comedian Nikki Glaser, who is hosting the Golden Globes this year, has confirmed that she will steer clear of making jokes about the legal dispute. Speaking to Yahoo Entertainment, Glaser said, “The Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni situation is so sensitive right now. Even mentioning it could be seen as taking sides, and that’s something I want to avoid. Honestly, I wish I didn’t even know his name.”
