The 2025 Global OTT Awards lit up the Busan Cinema Center in South Korea on Sunday, 24 August, celebrating the very best in streaming content from across Asia and beyond.

Organised by the Korea International Streaming Festival (KISF) and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), with support from South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Busan Metropolitan City, the night was a grand celebration of creativity, storytelling, and innovation in the digital space.

The atmosphere was electric, with fans turning up in large numbers and stars gracing the red carpet in style. As photos and videos from the event flooded social media, it was clear that this year’s edition had captured the imagination of audiences everywhere.

Netflix had a particularly strong night, with When Life Gives You Tangerines sweeping several major awards. The show won Best Creative, while Im Sang Chun was recognised as Best Writer, and Yeom Hye Ran took home Best Supporting Actress for her moving performance.

Meanwhile, Disney+’s Nine Puzzles was named Best OTT Original, and Park Eun Bin won hearts and the Best Lead Actress award for her role in Hyper Knife. Sakaguchi Kentaro delivered a standout performance in What Comes After Love, earning him Best Lead Actor (Male).

In the reality and variety category, TVING’s WORLD OF STREET WOMAN FIGHTER danced away with the win, while The Outlaw Doctor from Taiwan was named Best Asian Content. Yao Xiaofeng won Best Director for Northward, which also claimed a People’s Choice Award for Bai Lu.

Rising stars were also in the spotlight. Kang You Seok (Resident Playbook) and Suri Lin (Born for the Spotlight) were awarded Best Newcomer, while Shi Pengyuan and Lee Su Hyun shared the Rising Star of the Year honour.

From heartfelt dramas to cutting-edge tech, and dazzling performances to unforgettable soundtracks, the night was a vibrant reminder of how storytelling continues to evolve — and how the OTT space is only getting more exciting.
