"I told her, ‘Think about it. How many mothers would be willing to talk to their daughters about gifting something like this? Why don’t you experiment?'"

"What my mom didn’t do with me, I don’t not want to do that with my daughter. I want her to experience everything. A lot of women go through life without experiencing its pleasures. Looking back, Gautami believes her unconventional thought, even if not acted upon, has had a positive impact on her relationship with her daughter. "Today, my daughter is 19 and she appreciates the fact that I at least had that thought."
