South Korea recently faced a major wildfire outbreak that destroyed the southeastern part of the country. The wildfire has notably left around 30 people dead and thousands of structures, including a centuries-old Buddhist temple, destroyed. The recent wildfire is said to be the worst in the country’s history.

However, the Korean entertainment industry has stepped up to contribute to the relief fund. Several popular K-pop idols and K-drama actors have made significant donations to support wildfire relief efforts. Notable figures, including K-pop sensations BTS and BLACKPINK, have come forward to support people affected by the fire.

BTS member Jungkook, who is currently enlisted in the military for his mandatory service, has notably donated 1 billion won to the relief fund. The pop singer’s effort marked the largest donation so far.

BTS member V, aka Kim Tae-hyung, has donated 200 million won to support the victims of the recent major wildfires and the firefighters dedicated to the scene.

He announced that 100 million won would go towards emergency relief activities and recovery support for victims in wildfire-affected areas, including Sangcheongun in Gyeongnam, Uiseonggun in Gyeongbuk, and Ulju-gun in Ulsan.

Meanwhile, the remaining 100 million won will support projects focused on the recovery and improved treatment of firefighters who have worked tirelessly to extinguish the fires and rescue lives. This donation acknowledges the bravery and selflessness of these firefighters.

However, other BTS members, including RM, J-Hope and Suga, have donated 100 million won to the relief fund.
