International pop sensation Louis Tomlinson made a spectacular India debut at the third edition of the Lollapalooza India music festival on Sunday, calling it a “mind-blowing and incredible” experience.
Taking the stage just after 7 PM on the festival's second day, the singer-songwriter set the tone for an electrifying performance with an engaging introduction. “My name is Louis Tomlinson, and this is my fu***** incredible band.”
The 33-year-old singer from Doncaster, England, admitted that performing in India was something he had never envisioned. “Never in a million fu***** years did I ever think I’d be in India when I was a young lad, and never did I think I’d be performing here. It’s mind-blowing man, I can’t get my head around it. I love you,” he said.
Despite a large number of Louis Tomlinson’s dedicated fans gathering at Mahalaxmi Racecourse in South Mumbai, the crowd appeared slightly smaller compared to the first day of the festival, possibly due to the ICC Champions Trophy final between India and New Zealand. The singer jokingly remarked that from his vantage point, it initially seemed like only a few people had shown up, making him momentarily think no one had turned up. However, he expressed his gratitude to the audience for being there.

“Thank you so much, this is going to be a good one,” he said, adding that he was going to sing one of his hit songs ”Drag Me Down”, which resulted in loud cheers from the crowd.
The concert was a perfect blend of nostalgia and new melodies, as Louis Tomlinson treated fans to a mix of One Direction classics like Where Do Broken Hearts Go and Night Changes, along with his solo hits such as Written All Over Your Face, Out of System, Saturdays, Back To You Now, and We Made It. One Direction, the renowned British boy band, originally featured Tomlinson alongside Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and the late Liam Payne.
“Every single place I go, I get so much support. This is a collaborative experience; we are doing this together, and the confidence that you all give me. Thanks, all my love. You are incredible. I’ll never ever forget this. Thank you, India for everything,” he said.
As the concert neared its end, Louis Tomlinson expressed his desire to capture the unforgettable moment with both the audience and his band. Reflecting on his journey, the singer, who has performed worldwide, took a heartfelt pause to acknowledge the unwavering support he has received throughout the years. "I want to remember this moment," he shared, cherishing the special night.
The second day of Lollapalooza India featured an impressive lineup of performers, including singer Lisa Mishra, singer-songwriter Raghav Meattle, sitar virtuoso Niladri Kumar, rapper duo Raftaar x KR$NA, Hanumankind, rock band Nothing But Thieves, and DJ John Summit.
Meanwhile, One Direction, the band Tomlinson was once a part of alongside Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and the late Liam Payne, has remained on an indefinite hiatus since March 2016 as its members pursued solo careers.
