An FIR has been lodged against seven individuals, including Bollywood actors Alok Nath and Shreyas Talpade, as well as members of a Credit Cooperative Society, at the Gomti Nagar Police Station in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, according to ANI reports.
The FIR accuses the individuals of defrauding 45 investors, amounting to a loss of Rs 9.12 crores. However, more details on the case is awaited.
Both Shreyas Talpade and Alok Nath were at the center of a legal controversy lats month as well, with a case of cheating and breach of trust filed against them at the Murthal police station in Sonipat, Haryana.
An FIR, filed on January 22, names a total of 13 individuals, including actors Shreyas Talpade and Alok Nath, as accused. The case had sparked significant controversy, with both actors now facing serious allegations. Ongoing investigations are expected to reveal more details, and legal proceedings are set to unfold in the coming weeks.
The charges against Talpade and Nath involve fraudulent property transfers and are categorized under Sections 316, 318, and 318(4) of the Indian Penal Code.
In a complaint filed by Vipul Antil, a resident of Sonipat, the Human Welfare Credit Cooperative Society is accused of luring investors with promises of high returns on its fixed deposit (FD) and recurring deposit (RD) schemes. However, the society allegedly operated using a multi-level marketing model, where agents were incentivized for recruiting new investors.

Although the society was officially registered, its dubious practices have raised alarms. Investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of involvement of actors Shreyas Talpade and Alok Nath in the matter, with authorities working to uncover the full scope of the alleged fraudulent activities.
On the work front, Shreyas Talpade was last seen in Emergency, a film directed by Kangana Ranaut. Alok Nath, a veteran actor with a career spanning over three decades, has appeared in more than 300 films since his debut in 1982.
