Filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia on his CID comeback after 6.5 years; says ‘Due to popular demand I’ve been called back’

Acclaimed filmmaker and actor Tigmanshu Dhulia is set to make a powerful return to CID as the ruthless and infamous Barbosa, the leader of the notorious Eye Gang. After 6.5 years, Barbosa is back with a singular mission—to complete his unfinished task of dismantling the CID bureau. This time, the Eye Gang’s sinister plan is expected to send shockwaves through the team, creating turmoil and uncertainty. As their deadly game unfolds, it threatens to shake the very foundation of the bureau, leading to an intense and unprecedented turn of events. Reflecting on his comeback, Dhulia admitted that he initially had reservations when he first joined CID over six years ago. He wondered if his character, Barbosa, would be overshadowed, but to his surprise, the experience turned out to be exceptional. He noted that the audience truly appreciated his portrayal of Barbosa and the Eye Gang, which ultimately led to his return. “Due to popular demand, I’ve been called back, and I couldn’t be more thrilled,” he said.

Dhulia also spoke highly of his experience working with the CID team, describing them as exceptionally talented and professional. He emphasized that such dedication is rare in the industry and that returning to the show feels like coming home, especially since many of the crew members remain the same.

Sharing his excitement about reprising the role, Dhulia revealed that Barbosa’s character has evolved. “This time, Barbosa returns with a clear mission, and I’m fully prepared,” he explained. He described his character as sharper, more unpredictable, and always a step ahead. “At any moment, he could turn the tables, making him even more dangerous,” he added. According to Dhulia, Barbosa now has a distinct stylized edge that adds to the thrill of playing him. He assured fans that the upcoming episodes will be an exhilarating ride they won’t want to miss.
