The anticipation for 120 Bahadur continues to build steadily, and according to industry sources, the film’s teaser is likely to be attached to War 2, with an official release slated for the first week of August.
The anticipation for the project has only increased with Farhan Akhtar's return to the war genre, this time taking the lead role in front of the camera.
The breathtaking tale of the Battle of Rezang La in 1962 is brought to the big screen in 120 Bahadur, which is based on the incredible real-life valour of Param Vir Chakra recipient Major Shaitan Singh Bhati.
The crew behind 120 Bahadur embarked on a physically taxing shoot in the perilous Ladakh landscapes in order to faithfully portray the ferocity and spirit of the conflict.
A source informed, “The team shot at around 14,000 feet, where temperatures often dropped to minus 5, even minus 10 degrees Celsius. There was a conscious effort to tell this story with integrity, and Farhan really committed himself to the part—physically, mentally, and emotionally.”
To portray Maj Shaitan Singh accurately, Farhan Akhtar had to undergo extensive military-style training and spend time acclimating to high altitudes. His internal and external metamorphosis is a reflection of the film's commitment to emotional nuance and realism.
The movie tells the story of how 120 Indian soldiers bravely defended Ladakh against a massive Chinese force despite being outnumbered and ill-prepared. One of the most memorable and poignant periods in India's military history is still their bravery, selflessness, and unwavering determination.
