Production of the highly anticipated fifth season of Emily in Paris is scheduled to start in May, but with a glamorous twist. Before the story returns to Paris later in the summer, the first leg of filming will take place in Rome, providing a new setting and a romantic new chapter for Emily Cooper, played by Lily Collins.

Emily's love life is expected to become more complex this season, with even more entanglements and emotional turns. She will be examining a developing romance with Marcello, played by Italian actor Eugenio Franceschini, her new Italian love interest. It is anticipated that Emily's perspective will change during their time together in Rome, both personally and professionally.

Netflix has confirmed the return of key cast members, including Lucas Bravo as the charming chef Gabriel, Lucien Laviscount as Alfie, and Franceschini reprising his role as Marcello. The love triangle—or perhaps, love square—will take centre stage this season, as Emily finds herself torn between past romances and newfound feelings.

Joining Collins once again are the familiar faces of the show’s beloved French ensemble: Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu returns as the ever-stylish Sylvie Grateau, alongside Samuel Arnold (Julien), Bruno Gouery (Luc), William Abadie (Antoine Lambert), and Ashley Park as Emily’s best friend and aspiring singer, Mindy Chen.
