Ed Kelce shares what Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce did right after their engagement

Ed claims that the romantic proposal happened in a garden in Lee's Summit, Missouri.

The engagement of pop superstar Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce has taken the world by storm, and now Kelce’s father, Ed Kelce, is giving fans a closer look at how the proposal unfolded.

In a recent interview with News 5’s John Kosich, Ed opened up about the intimate details of the big moment, from how Travis planned the proposal to the immediate family Facetime calls that followed.

Ed claims that the romantic proposal happened in a garden in Lee's Summit, Missouri. He described the event as follows: "He got her out there, and they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, 'let's go out and have a glass of wine,' … they got out there, and that's when he asked her, and it was beautiful."

The couple wanted to share the happiness with their families right away, the proud father also disclosed. To make sure everyone knew, they began FaceTiming their mother, her parents, and me. Thus, it's wonderful to see them together," Ed remarked, remembering the precious family time.

Ed further shared that the proposal had actually happened a little earlier than fans might think.

“Travis actually did the proposal, oh, maybe two weeks, not quite two weeks ago,” he revealed. Explaining why, he added, “He was going to put it off till this week. I think she was getting maybe a little antsy, but he was going to put her off till this week, to, you know, make some grand thing, to make it a big special event. And I told him repeatedly, you know, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event … when you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you.”

 Ed pointed out that Travis had received the same counsel from Taylor Swift's father, Scott Swift, who emphasised that asking is what makes any moment genuinely memorable.

In a joint Instagram post featuring a number of images from their proposal, the couple formally declared their engagement on August 27. Swifties and NFL fans were in a frenzy after the announcement, which signalled the beginning of yet another lovely chapter in their beloved romance.
