Sanoj Mishra, the film director who gained attention by offering Monalisa a role during the 2025 Maha Kumbh, has been arrested by Delhi Police on Monday, March 31st.

Sanoj Mishra, the director who offered viral sensation Monalisa during Maha Kumbh 2025, has been recently arrested by the Delhi Police on March 31, Monday for allegedly raping as aspiring actress, according to reports.

As reported by Times of India, Police stated that Sanoj Mishra, a film director who had given Monalisa, who gained popularity online, a film role at the Kumbh Mela, was taken into custody regarding a rape allegation. They stated that the arrest followed the Delhi High Court's denial of his request for bail.

"Sanoj Mishra was apprehended by the Delhi Police following intelligence gathering and technical surveillance. It is alleged that he raped a girl from a small town, who aspired to become a heroine, several times," Police further mentioned in their statement.

The core of the legal case involves accusations made by a 28-year-old woman, who comes from a small town. She claims that Sanoj Mishra repeatedly sexually assaulted her over a span of four years.

Sanoj Mishra, who is 45 years old, was captured by the Delhi Police after they gathered information and used technical surveillance techniques. The arrest happened in Ghaziabad, and Mr. Mishra, who lives with his family in Mumbai, was brought into custody by the Nabi Karim Police Station.

For those unfamiliar, Monalisa Bholsle, a 16-year-old who sells flowers, became very popular online during the Maha Kumbh festival this year. People were amazed by her striking beauty, and she was offered a role in a movie called "The Diary of West Bengal" by director Sanoj Mishra.

Mishra had also went to Monalisa's village to meet her and her family in person. He described them as very down-to-earth and uncomplicated people. He further said that he had taken on the responsibility of helping Monalisa enter the movie industry and that he was dedicated to making sure she had a good future.
