Did you know Shilpa Shirodkar, who failed her 10th standard, married Aparesh Ranjit, a UK-based banker with dual MBA degrees?

Shilpa Shirodkar, a popular actress of the 1990s, recently opened up about her personal life in a candid interview. Known for her roles in films like Hum, Khuda Gawah, and Aankhen, Shilpa stepped away from the spotlight at the peak of her career to embrace family life. Now, social media is abuzz with her heartfelt revelations — especially about being a “10th fail” who confidently married a double MBA banker without ever feeling inadequate.

Marriage Beyond Qualifications

In a world where academic credentials are often seen as a status symbol, Shilpa's story stands out. She married Aparesh Ranjit, a successful banker with dual MBA degrees. Despite her educational background being limited to Class 10, Shilpa says she never once felt lesser. “I can talk to him and his colleagues about everything,” she told Pinkvilla, proudly stating that their relationship has always been based on mutual respect, not qualifications.

Their love story blossomed quickly. Within a day and a half of meeting, she said “yes” to marrying him, fully aware that she would have to move abroad. “I just liked his honesty so much that I didn’t even think what I was doing. Everything fell in place,” Shilpa shared.

A Bold Move Abroad and a Strong Comeback

Shilpa left India post-marriage and settled in New Zealand, giving up a thriving acting career for love. While she acknowledges missing the hustle of showbiz, she says she has no regrets. “If I would have gotten married in India, I would have hundred percent continued working,” she admitted, hinting that geographical distance made it difficult to keep up with her career.

But her passion never faded. Shilpa made a successful comeback in 2013 with the TV series Ek Mutthi Aasmaan after a 13-year hiatus. In 2024, she further revived her connection with fans by participating in Bigg Boss 18.

25 Years of Togetherness

This year, Shilpa and Aparesh celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. Marking the occasion, she shared a heartfelt post on social media: "Through thick and thin, through calm and storm, I would still choose you even after 25 years, Aps. Happy 25th Anniversary to the man who is behind this successful woman!" She also added a cheeky second picture captioned: **“Your wife is always right.” The post captured the warmth and humor that defines their enduring relationship.

Legacy of a Strong-Willed Woman

Shilpa’s career, marked by memorable performances from the late '80s to the early 2000s, reflects her versatility and dedication. After debuting in Ramesh Sippy’s Bhrashtachar in 1989, she acted in several hits before choosing a life away from the limelight.

She belongs to a family of film personalities — sister to actress Namrata Shirodkar and sister-in-law to superstar Mahesh Babu — yet carved her own path on her own terms.
