Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has sparked massive buzz online after sharing his first review of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, calling it a game-changer for Indian cinema.

His bold claims have quickly gone viral, adding to the already sky-high anticipation around the film.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), RGV praised the film’s scale, impact, and storytelling, describing it as a cinematic experience unlike anything seen before. In a striking statement, he said that the film would make “all the greatest films made so far, starting from Mughal-e-Azam onwards, look like TV serials.”

He wrote, “After last nights watch of #Dhurandhar2 in terms of it’s sheer cumulative impact in every which way , whether on it’s expected collections , audience euphoria , social influences , cinematic grammar breaking , and above all the psychological audio visual impact , it will be a SHOLAY x 100 level magnificence and is bound to make all the greatest films made so far starting from MUGHAL E AZAM. onwards look like TV SERIALS.”

“This is the BIRTH of a NEW CINEMATIC ORDER  and the ruthless extinction of everything that that ever existed http://before.in the previous WORLD of CINEMA. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the sequel continues the story of the blockbuster Dhurandhar, which had already created history at the box office and set new benchmarks for the spy-action genre. The second installment is expected to push boundaries even further with its scale and narrative intensity.

While his comments have been met with excitement from fans, some social media users have also debated whether the praise is too over-the-top. Nevertheless, his review has undeniably amplified the hype surrounding the film’s release.

With advance buzz already strong and industry insiders backing the project, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about releases of the year.

Dhurandhar 2’s paid previews will start from 5pm today and it will be held across Mumbai and Delhi. The tickets have been sold at a price as high as Rs 3100. The movie is likely to get a roaring start at the box office.
