After a long wait, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has finally arrived in theatres today, following its paid previews on the night of March 18. The buzz around the film had been building for weeks, and it has translated strongly into numbers, with early shows already hinting at a record-setting run.
According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has registered a powerful start at the box office, earning Rs 44.00 crore. The film also recorded an impressive 46.7% occupancy across 12,292 shows, reflecting strong audience turnout and setting the stage for a massive opening day.
The sequel was always expected to open big, much like its predecessor, but it has managed to go a step further. Interestingly, it roared even louder with just the preview shows, signalling extraordinary demand among moviegoers.
‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ collected Rs 44 crore net in India, according to Sacnilk, from its paid preview shows, released on March 18, 2026. With this number, it has surpassed 2025 release ‘Dhurandhar,’ which opened at Rs 28 crore.
Trade reports suggest that this is now the highest-ever paid preview collection for an Indian film, underlining the scale of anticipation surrounding the sequel.
Further breaking down the collections for each language, the Hindi version has evidently contributed the maximum share, earning Rs 6.92 crore from 8,086 shows. The film has seen comparatively lower traction in other languages, with Tamil bringing in Rs 0.03 crore from 435 shows and Telugu adding Rs 0.19 crore from 324 shows.
Meanwhile, the Kannada and Malayalam versions are yet to post significant numbers despite being screened in 40 and 43 shows respectively. In the regional circuits, collections appear to have been affected as a few shows in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam reportedly faced delays or cancellations due to technical issues.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film sees Ranveer Singh reprise his role as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, also known as Hamza Ali Mazari. The sequel follows the massive success of the first instalment, which reportedly earned around Rs 1300 crore globally, raising expectations significantly.
The film also features Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun in reprised roles. Dhurandhar: The Revenge has now been released worldwide in theatres on March 19.
