According to a recent report by Pinkvilla, Dhoom 4 is currently in the development phase. Aditya Chopra, the head of YRF, is working closely with acclaimed writer Shridhar Raghavan to craft a fresh and engaging script.

A source quoted by the publication stated, “Aditya Chopra has been closely involved in developing the story and screenplay of Dhoom 4. They are aiming to reboot the franchise with a storyline that lives up to the brand’s legacy and fan expectations.”

In a major development, director Ayan Mukerji, known for Wake Up Sid, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, and Brahmāstra, is reportedly in discussions to helm the film. Mukerji shares a long-standing creative bond with Ranbir Kapoor, and their collaboration on Dhoom 4 is expected to bring a unique storytelling style to the high-energy action format.

“Ranbir is the apt choice for Dhoom 4, and the character is designed to match his personality and charm,” the source added. “The film will be distinct from the YRF Spy Universe and will aim for global action standards in terms of visuals and scale.”

The makers are targeting an April 2026 start for production, giving ample time to lock in the final script and plan for large-scale action sequences. This reboot is expected to introduce a new aesthetic and narrative tone while maintaining the franchise’s signature style.
