Fans will never forget the night of September 14 in Chennai when Dhanush and composer GV Prakash played the movie's song Enjami Thandhaane live on stage at the Idli Kadai audio launch. The audience loved it when Dhanush's kid Linga joined him for an impromptu dance, which made it even more charming.
According to a video of the event that is going popular on social media, Dhanush and GV Prakash presented a passionate performance before calling Linga to the stage. The audience roared as the father and son worked together to put on a great show.
Many people in the crowd cried when Dhanush's kid stroked his father's feet in respect to end the moving moment.
Why Idli Kadai exists
Dhanush talked openly about the extremely personal reasons for Idli Kadai, his fourth film as a director, during the event. He said, looking back on his childhood, "As a kid, I always wanted idlis, but I could never get them. My sister and I would pick flowers in our neighborhood and sell them. We would get up at 4 a.m., labour for a few hours, and earn approximately Rs 2. Then we would proceed to the idli shop after taking a bath at a nearby pump set. Eating four or five idlis that we purchased for ourselves was the most satisfying thing ever."
He said that the movie's plot was based on this cherished recollection, which is why Idli Kadai was so important to him.
