Singer D4vd has abruptly canceled the rest of his U.S. tour after police found a dead body inside a car registered in his name. The 20-year-old, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, had just begun the “Withered” North American run earlier this month.

Venue sites quietly pulled upcoming dates in Los Angeles, including a Sept. 21 concert and a Grammy Museum event on Sept. 24. A show in Seattle was already scrapped earlier this week. Tickets for Friday night’s San Francisco stop were still listed online as of Friday morning, but TMZ reported his team has axed all remaining U.S. dates.

Body Identified as Missing California Teen

The disturbing case dates back to Sept. 8, when Los Angeles police were called to a Hollywood Tow yard after a foul odor was reported. Officers discovered a body stuffed in a bag inside the front trunk of a Tesla. The car was registered to Burke at an address in Hempstead, Texas.

Authorities later identified the victim as Celeste Rivas, a 17-year-old reported missing from Lake Elsinore, California, in April. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed her identity earlier this week.

Photos allegedly showing Burke with Rivas have been circulating online, though police have not confirmed their authenticity. NBC News reported the musician is “fully cooperating” with investigators. Importantly, the car was never reported stolen.

Career Fallout and Next Steps

D4vd has not made a public statement. However, the fallout has already begun. Crocs and Hollister both suspended collaborations with him after the news broke. A deluxe edition of his April album Withered, originally due Sept. 19, has also been postponed.

The Houston-born artist rose to fame with hits like Here With Me and Romantic Homicide, each surpassing a billion streams on Spotify. Just weeks ago, he dropped a new single billed as Fortnite’s “first-ever official anthem.”

For now, his European tour scheduled to begin Oct. 1 in Norway remains on sale, but industry insiders say changes are likely.
