Coolie first review: Tamil Nadu Deputy CM Stalin praises Rajinikanth’s power-packed drama

With just few hours to go for its worldwide release, superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie has already won praise from Tamil Nadu’s Deputy Chief Minister, Udhayanidhi Stalin.

The politician, who is also a former actor and producer, attended a special screening of the much-awaited film and described it as “power-packed mass entertainer” that will appeal to audiences of all ages.

Taking to X, Udhayanidhi penned a heartfelt message in both Tamil and English, congratulating Rajinikanth on completing 50 years in cinema and extending his best wishes to director Lokesh Kanagaraj and the entire cast. "I am truly delighted to congratulate our Superstar

Sharing his excitement after the preview, Udhayanidhi said, “Had the opportunity to get an early glimpse of his much-awaited movie #Coolie, releasing tomorrow. Slated to release in multiple languages on August 14, Coolie is already making waves with its record-breaking advance bookings, which have reportedly crossed ₹75 crore. The film will open in cinemas alongside another big-ticket release, War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, setting the stage for one of the year’s biggest box office clashes.

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie is a gangster drama featuring an ensemble cast that includes Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj, Upendra, Aamir Khan, Soubin Shahir, and Shruti Haasan. Produced by Sun Pictures, the project marks Rajinikanth’s first collaboration with the Master and Vikram filmmaker.
