Coolie, an action movie by Lokesh Kanagaraj that fans had been looking forward to, came out in theatres on August 14. Rajinikanth played Deva while Nagarjuna played the bad guy, Simon. Even though the movie brought in a lot of people, Nagarjuna's fans in Hyderabad and Vizag made the celebrations even better.

Fans climbed to the top of Hyderabad's Gokul Theatre to hang flowers around a huge picture of Nagarjuna, turning the place into a mini-festival. Outside, fans joyously displayed posters of the star, confetti fell from the skies, and fireworks lit up the night sky. Along with flower showers and dhol rhythms, traditional Tollywood fans poured milk over his cutouts.

Some admirers made things even more exciting by wishing Nagarjuna a happy early birthday, because her birthday is August 29. There were posters that said "Advance Happy Birthday Annayya" and music and milk abhishekams.

People in Vizag were equally as excited. Fans lit fireworks, threw smoke bombs, and held personalized flags with Nagarjuna's Simon to celebrate the movie's debut.

After the initial excitement, reactions were mixed. Many supporters were unhappy with how Nagarjuna's position was handled on X (previously Twitter). Some people thought Simon was a useless character, while others liked his manner and how he acted on television. Some people were really upset with how his story ended.

But not everyone agreed with them. Some people who saw the movie said that Nagarjuna and Soubin Shahir played villains very well, just like Rajinikanth does in a lot of movies. Some people in the audience also said how much they appreciated the roles played by Shruti Haasan, Nagarjuna, and Soubin.
