At a recent Coldplay concert in Boston, front man Chris Martin unintentionally stirred up major controversy with a humorous segment that quickly turned awkward.
During the show, Martin engaged the crowd with a classic ‘kiss cam’ moment—only to inadvertently put a spotlight on a couple whose reaction raised more eyebrows than cheers. The video of the incident has since gone viral across social media platforms.
The camera panned to Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot, who were seen sitting closely with their arms around each other. Martin playfully said, “Oh, look at these two,” prompting smiles from the crowd. But as the camera lingered, the moment took an uncomfortable turn—Byron swiftly pulled away and tried to hide behind a barrier, while Cabot covered her face in visible embarrassment. Picking up on the awkwardness, Martin added with a laugh, “They’re either having an affair or they’re just very shy.”
Astronomer CEO caught cheating with his HR chief during a Coldplay concert in Boston. Both are married with kids. Andy Byron cheated on his wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron. However, the supposedly humorous remark sparked an online firestorm. The fact that Cabot is in charge of Astronomer's Human Resources department and that Byron is married with two kids was immediately brought up by viewers.
Their astonished and evasive responses throughout the segment only served to increase conjecture regarding their relationship.
Since then, the incident has generated a great deal of online discussion, with the video going viral and taking centre stage in online discussions.
Social media posts by Kristin Cabot, particularly those that included her kids and family, were inundated with supportive and worried comments from users.
Meanwhile, X saw a wave of reactions ranging from shock and criticism to jokes and commentary on workplace ethics.
Several netizens took to X and shared their reactions. one fan wrote, "Her friend’s body language sort of looks like she’s distancing herself from it simultaneously knowingly laughing- thinking about the fallout of the company? Thinking about their children? Probably not- just happy they got caught is the way I read it."
One X user also wrote, "Chris Martin is a savage..." While another commented, "Hahah...awkward situation."
Another netizen pointed out, "My favorite part is how they gave themselves away by reacting. Little to no chance the video of that Jumbotron would have gone viral if they would have just stood there until the camera switched feeds."
As per latest update, Andy has now shared an official statement, apologizing for his actions and acknowledging his mistake.
A part of the statement read, "What was supposed to be a night of music and joy turned into a deeply personal mistake playing out on a very public stage. I want to sincerely apologize to my wife, my family, and the team at Astronomer. You deserve better from me as a partner, as a father, and as a leader."
He blames everyone, including Coldplay for his moral abyss. Try keeping you dyck in your pants, Andy. Don't want to be found out, don't go to public events with the mistress. Loser. Hope the wife wipes you out in court. pic.twitter.com/pViU9Hdt72 — 47 THE GREATEST /AMERICAFIRST /Veteran/John 3:16 (@SillySaltyAFVet) July 17, 2025
Further pointing at Chris for 'invading his privacy without consent', Andy mentioned, "This is not who I want to be or how I want to represent the company I helped build. I'm taking time to reflect, to take accountability, and to figure out the next steps, personally and professionally. I ask for privacy as I navigate that process."
