BIGHIT MUSIC recently announced that BTS leader RM is set to release his solo documentary titled RM: Right People, Wrong Place. This highly anticipated film will have its world premiere at the prestigious 29th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), which will be held from October 2 to 11, 2024. Just a day after the announcement, RM treated fans to a special trailer for the documentary, further heightening anticipation.
The visually captivating trailer offers a glimpse into RM's creative process as he discusses his solo album, also titled Right People, Wrong Place. In the video, RM explains that the album is a reflection of "what's happening around me right now," offering a personal and introspective look into his life and artistic journey. He contemplates the kind of storyteller he wants to become, expressing a desire to be a calm and authentic voice in the world of music.
RM takes viewers on a journey through the making of Right People, Wrong Place, and shares insights into his thoughts and feelings during the creative process. The team behind the project praises RM, describing him as a "bright boy" who is deeply committed to his craft. RM himself reflects on his journey, acknowledging how far he has come and his determination to stay true to himself.
RM: Right People, Wrong Place is a deeply personal exploration of RM's identity as both an artist and a human being. The documentary delves into the duality of RM’s existence, exploring the notion of feeling like "an outsider in conventional settings" (Right Place, Wrong Person) and "out of place in unusual situations" (Right Person, Wrong Place). It captures the eight months leading up to RM’s military enlistment, documenting the creation of his second solo album and his quest for self-discovery.
