The post was quickly deleted, but not before fans noticed the error. This mistake was particularly sensitive due to the ongoing feud between NewJeans’ agency ADOR and HYBE, which had already involved BTS' name and caused tension among fans.
Hello, this is Team BT21.We deeply apologize for the recent issue where an AD of another IP was mistakenly sent out via our BT21 official X account.

BT21's apology began by acknowledging the error and expressing deep regret for promoting an advertisement of another group's IP. They explained that the incident occurred due to a 'setting error' which led to the unintended promotion of unrelated content.
"Dear fans, we deeply apologize for the recent promotion of another IP (NewJeans) through our official channel. This post was mistakenly sent out due to a setting error, which resulted in the promotion of unrelated content. We understand the gravity of this mistake and assure you that we will take more caution in the future to prevent any such occurrences. We appreciate your understanding and continued support," read the note.
The apology did little to quell the fans' agitation. Many pointed out the unfortunate timing and the coincidence of promoting NewJeans through a BTS-related account amidst the ongoing issues between HYBE and ADOR. Fans reiterated their support for BTS and demanded assurance that such mistakes would not happen again.
BTS remains one of the most prominent K-pop boy bands globally. The group consists of seven members: RM, Jin, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. Currently, all members except Jin are enlisted in the military. Jin was recently discharged on June 12, 2024, and the occasion saw all BTS members taking leave to welcome him back.
In other exciting news, Jimin has announced his upcoming comeback album, MUSE, which is set to be released on July 19, 2024. Fans eagerly anticipate this new release as the group continues to make waves in the music industry despite the members' military enlistments.
The accidental promotion of NewJeans by BT21 was an unfortunate mistake that sparked considerable fan outrage, especially given the context of the ongoing disputes involving HYBE and ADOR.
