A wave of emotion has swept through BTS’s devoted fandom, ARMY, after photos recently went viral showing heartfelt fan messages on the group’s former training building being painted over — this time, with references to TXT, their juniors from the same label.
The building, once home to BTS during their formative years, holds deep sentimental value. It was where the seven members trained, struggled, and grew together before rising to global superstardom.
Even after BTS moved out in 2017, the location remained a kind of pilgrimage site for fans — a quiet tribute to the group's humble beginnings. Over the years, ARMYs left behind countless hand-written notes, murals, and doodles expressing love, gratitude, and admiration for the members.
The BigHit wall isn’t just paint , it’s ARMY history. Messages from fans who traveled across the world, some no longer with us, still lived there. To spray TXT tags over that legacy isn’t support , it’s vandalism. ARMY is called toxic, but what is this? Disrespect. Pure shame. pic.twitter.com/kDdduNqTnU— Team INDIA 🇮🇳 (Indian BTS ARMY) (@teamindiaforbts) August 25, 2025
this is disrespectful af instead of using the empty space they drew on top of the messages left by many armys over the years from over the world like pic.twitter.com/hYFCnjwy8k— lala⁷ ʙᴛꜱ ʏᴇᴀʀ (@fkubluehouse) August 25, 2025
So when new graffiti surfaced online showing “BTS” written over with “TXT” and “ARMY” replaced with “MOA” — the name of TXT’s fandom — fans were understandably upset. Many saw it not just as graffiti, but as a symbolic erasure of their personal memories and the emotional legacy of BTS’s journey.
“It wasn’t just a wall,” one fan commented on X. “It was our way of saying thank you to the boys for everything they went through.”
absolutely disgusting… pic.twitter.com/l5Ia5cmBuD— lala⁷ ʙᴛꜱ ʏᴇᴀʀ (@fkubluehouse) August 25, 2025
What stung even more for many was that TXT hadn’t even debuted during the time BTS occupied the building. While fans of both groups often coexist peacefully, this particular incident hit a nerve — not necessarily because of rivalry, but because of what was lost: a physical space filled with years of love and nostalgia.
I have no words... pic.twitter.com/noQPOQmDdW— monk⁷ (@btsmonk) August 25, 2025
Some MOAs have since spoken up to condemn the act, calling for more sensitivity and respect towards BTS’s history. Others have suggested finding a separate space where TXT fans can share their own messages, without replacing what’s already there.

At its heart, the moment is a reminder of just how powerfully K-pop fans connect to their idols — not just through screens or concerts, but through real places and shared memories. It also highlights the importance of honouring those memories with care.
