Vinod Khanna lived for a few years in Osho ashram

Veteran Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna became a disciple of Osho and moved to Rajneeshpuram, Osho's religious community in Oregon, US. However, Vinod Khanna’s second wife, Kavita Khanna, talks about his days in Osho ashram.

During a recent appearance on India: A Story in the Making, Kavita Khanna shared a glimpse of the time that he spent in the Osho ashram.

She said, “Most people don't know that for three years, when he was completing the films that he had signed, which would include Vahera Pheri, Gurbani, and you know these kinds of super hits, where he was just looking his absolute best. He would come and shoot if they were on location; he'd be on location, but his base was Pune.”

She added, “He had a room in the ashram that was four feet by six feet and Osho, in a discourse, joked about it and said that the room was so small that he had to step over the bed and had to sleep diagonally because it was so small.”

She continued, “Step over the bed to get into the room and then, but he did that. You know, in front of the camera, he was one thing, he was doing meditation, he was Osho's gardener in the ashram and then went to Oregon.”

“Some people can choose to do that, but then you also make it practical. So you've achieved a certain sense of peace, certain evolution has happened inside you and then the idea is to be a Buddha in the marketplace.
