Taapsee Pannu has always stood out in the Indian film industry, not just for her acting talent, but also for her individuality and artistic taste. Whether it’s the roles she chooses or the way she designs her personal spaces, she brings a sense of originality that feels entirely her own. Recently, the actress opened up about her latest project—her home in Denmark, a stunning 1907-built Danish-style house that she now shares with her husband, Danish badminton player Mathias Boe.

Speaking about the heritage property, Taapsee said, “It is a huge house that was built around 1907. There’s a lot of history involved and we wanted to restore as much as possible. There’s vintage furniture that’s been there for decades, which I did not want to get rid of. We requested the previous owners to let us keep it.”

The actress revealed that Denmark’s high labour and storage costs made preserving the existing items a practical choice too. “Labour is extremely expensive in Denmark and transportation, storing things in warehouses costs a bomb, so people prefer to sell their stuff. We were lucky to inherit all the vintage lamps, furniture, paintings and chandeliers—it goes with the vintage theme of the house, classic Danish designs,” she explained.

When asked about sharing the creative process with her husband, she admitted that while they share similar aesthetics, not everything is perfectly aligned. “Mathias and I have some common tastes but in some matters we agree to disagree. However, he’s left most of the interiors to me and his parents, who were also kind to let me decide. I discuss with everybody before making any decision,” she said.

On the professional front, Taapsee is gearing up for Gandhari, an intense action thriller where she plays a mother fighting to save her kidnapped child. Known for performing her own stunts, the actress promises a performance filled with emotional depth and physical grit. Once again, she’s blending strength with sincerity—both on screen and in her life, whether it’s in her performances or the home she’s lovingly restoring.
