The upcoming romantic comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Karan Johar, is creating quite the buzz after recently receiving a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
The film stars Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, with Rohit Saraf and Sanya Malhotra playing important roles, and is set to run for a neat 2 hours and 15 minutes.
As per News18, a source close to the project revealed, “Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is a fast-paced entertainer with a crisp run time of 2 hours and 15 minutes, which includes the start credit roll out and end credits song too (Perfect). The makers have tactfully packaged comedy with music and drama in a crisp run."
The runtime fits perfectly with other Khaitan–Dhawan hits like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2 hours 13 minutes) and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2 hours 19 minutes), keeping things tight and family-friendly. The insider added, “Much like Humpty and Badri, this one is also a packaged amily entertainer with romance in the forefront."
Set to release on 2 October 2025, the film is timed to take advantage of the festive holidays of Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra, which usually bring crowds to the theatres.
Advance bookings are expected to open soon, and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari will be going head-to-head with Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1—making for an exciting box office showdown.
The story follows Sunny (Varun Dhawan) and Tulsi (Janhvi Kapoor), who team up to pretend they’re a couple in a bid to win back their exes, played by Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf. A lot of laughter, romantic sparks, and enjoyable chaos result from their playful ruse.
Talented performers Akshay Oberoi and Maniesh Paul play supporting parts in the movie, which further enhances its charm.
When Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari opens in theatres on October 2, 2025, it promises to be a delightful festive season film with its blend of romance, comedy, and music. It will tell a new and entertaining tale.
