Shah Rukh Khan talks about Hindu mythology

An old interview of Shah Rukh Khan has resurfaced online, and fans can’t stop talking about his thoughtful take on how Indian mythology has always been way ahead of its time.

The superstar drew an interesting comparison between our ancient epics and the superheroes of Western cinema and honestly, it makes perfect sense.

In the interview, Shah Rukh explained how stories from the Ramayan and Mahabharat are filled with characters who possess extraordinary powers long before Hollywood created its own versions of superhumans.

“Generally jab aap Ramayan ko lelo ya Mahabharat ko lelo, toh voh X-Men hai, bilkul X-Men hai, aisi divya shakti hai ki aankhon se dekh sakta hai koi, koi udd sakta hai, Bheem bhot strong hai, Hulk, Arjun ka aim itna kamaal hai, Cyclops.”

He went on to say that even major Hollywood blockbusters have drawn from Indian philosophy, citing Avatar as a clear example.

“Aap yeh dekhiye Avatar, puri Krishan ji philosophy hai uske andar aur main aisa padha hui hai.”
For Shah Rukh, mythology isn’t just about gods and legends it’s about imagination, power, and storytelling that transcends time. He shared how he has studied these myths deeply and believes their influence has reached far beyond India’s borders.

Shah Rukh Khan recently attended the Joy Forum in Riyadh, where he was seen sharing the stage with Salman Khan and Aamir Khan.

In one viral video from the event, Salman Khan was seen saying, “Aamir comes from a film background, so do I, but this man here (SRK) didn’t, he came from Delhi.”

To which Shah Rukh Khan, ever the charmer, replied with a smile, “Salman, I am sorry, I also come from a film family. Salman’s family is my family, Aamir’s family is my family.”

Aamir, clearly enjoying the moment, responded, “Now you know why Shah Rukh is a star.”
