Veteran actress Shabana Azmi paid tribute to her longtime friend Satish Shah, who passed away on October 25 at the age of 74. Sharing a nostalgic college-era photo, she remembered his infectious energy, jovial nature, and iconic roles, expressing sorrow over losing yet another dear friend alongside Farouque Shaikh.

Veteran actor Satish Shah passed away on October 25 at the age of 74, and the Indian film and television industries are still mourning the huge loss.

Actress Shabana Azmi paid homage to her longtime friend by sharing a heartfelt post that recalled her college friend and his contagious energy.

Shabana shared a photo of Satish Shah with friends from a previous get-together on Instagram.

Alongside the photo, she penned in the caption, “This photo was taken a couple of years ago on Roopa Shaikh’s birthday . Last year we lost her to cancer and now #Satish Shah is gone.”



The actress wrote a heartfelt note in which she recalled their time in college and their shared bond.

She recalled, “We were in college together and I used to keep bumping into him at common friends homes . Always full of beans , pulling a fast one and a jovial soul. Gone too soon . Farouque Shaikh and he were a team .. Bichde sabhi baari baari …”

Known for his easy comedic timing and charisma, Satish Shah passed away in Mumbai from complications resulting from a kidney disease. In an effort to continue caring for his wife, Madhu, who is suffering from Alzheimer's disease, the actor had a kidney transplant earlier this year.

Satish Shah was well-known for his iconic roles in Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Hum Saath Saath Hain, and as the humorous Indravadan Sarabhai in Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai. His passing has devastated his coworkers and admirers.
