Actor Ranbir Kapoor, who is currently busy preparing for Ramayana: Part 1 and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, is once again making headlines amid fresh rumours linking him to Yash Raj Films’ much-anticipated Dhoom 4. While speculation around the casting continues to grow, reports suggest that the idea is still in a very early stage.

According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Ranbir Kapoor’s association with Dhoom 4 is currently being discussed only at a conceptual level, largely because the script for the film has not been finalised yet. The publication quoted a source shedding light on the prolonged development of the project.

The source stated, “Yash Raj doesn’t have a script for Dhoom 4. They have been brainstorming over it for thirteen years, ever since Dhoom 3 was released. Aditya Chopra has rejected over nine drafts of the script. He isn’t venturing into his banner’s most prestigious franchise until absolutely certain about the script… Not after War 2 and Mardaani 3.”

The insider further revealed that Ranbir is fully occupied with his current commitments and is unlikely to consider new projects at the moment. Speaking about his schedule, the source added, “Right now he’s focusing entirely on Sanjay Bhansali’s Love & War and Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. His last experience with Yash Raj, Shamshera, was a colossal disaster. He will only tread with utmost caution on that front," they added.

As of now, there has been no official confirmation from the makers regarding Ranbir Kapoor’s involvement in Dhoom 4. Earlier rumours had suggested that Vicky Kaushal might step into Abhishek Bachchan’s iconic cop role in the franchise, with reports claiming that he would be seen chasing Ranbir Kapoor in the film.

On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor is set to share screen space with Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming period drama Love & War. The film is reportedly slated for an August release this year, although an official announcement from the makers is still awaited.

Meanwhile, Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious mythological epic Ramayana will feature Sai Pallavi and Yash in pivotal roles alongside Ranbir Kapoor. The project is planned as a two-part saga, with Ramayana: Part 1 scheduled to hit theatres in 2026, followed by Part 2 in 2027.
