Concern and prayers have poured in from across the country as news of veteran actor Dharmendra’s hospitalisation continues to make headlines.

The 89-year-old, one of Indian cinema’s most beloved stars, was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai after reportedly experiencing breathing difficulties.

A video posted by ANI Trending shows police barricades outside Dharmendra's Mumbai home on Sunday. The video shows security guards erecting barricades to keep the swarms of media and fans outside his house under control.

Fans were instantly alarmed by the scene and took to social media to offer the legendary actor their prayers and best wishes. The Deol family has since clarified, though, that there is no reason for concern.

Hema Malini, who was spotted visiting her husband at the hospital, offered a calm and reassuring message to reporters, saying, “We’re hoping for his speedy recovery.”

Sunny Deol’s team also clarified the situation, putting an end to rumours about the actor’s health.

“This is rumour mongering like always. Sir is getting better. He’s under observation. There’s nothing to worry,” the statement read.

Amid the outpouring of support, television personality and comedian Bharti Singh was also approached by paparazzi, who informed her about Dharmendra’s health.

Known as Bollywood's "He-Man," Dharmendra has a six-decade legacy thanks to his legendary roles in films like Sholay (1975), Chupke Chupke (1975), and Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973).

He is still involved in the business today; his most recent role in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023) served as a reminder to viewers of his unparalleled charisma and depth of feeling.
