Renowned Indian classical singer and Padma Vibhushan awardee Pandit Chhannulal Mishra passed away at the age of 89 in Mirzapur on October 2. He was celebrated for his mastery in Khayal and Purab Ang Thumri.

Pandit Chhannulal Mishra dies on Thursday

Indian classical singer Pandit Chhannulal Mishra passed away on October 2 due to age-related issues. He was 89.

The veteran singer took his last breath at his daughter’s house in Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur. He was admitted to the hospital for the last few days due to health-related ailments.

Pandit Chhannulal Mishra’s daughter Namrata Mishra told PTI, “He was admitted to the hospital for the last 17-18 days with age related issues. He passed away at home this morning at around 4 am.”

The last rites of Pandit Chhannulal Mishra will be performed in Varanasi at 5 pm.
