Mrunal Thakur gives shout out to Marathi film Dashavatar ahead of its Malayalam release: "Happy to see our stories reaching new audience"

Actress Mrunal Thakur, who comes from a Maharashtrian background and has made a mark in both Bollywood and South cinema, expressed her joy over the film’s expanding reach.

Dashavatar, a Marathi film starring veteran actor Dilip Prabhavalkar and directed by Subodh Khanolkar, has become a massive hit both in India and overseas. Following its phenomenal success, the film is now gearing up for its Malayalam release on November 21.

Actress Mrunal Thakur, who comes from a Maharashtrian background and has made a mark in both Bollywood and South cinema, expressed her joy over the film’s expanding reach.

Delighted by the achievement, she called it a “proud moment” for Marathi cinema, as regional stories are finding audiences across linguistic and cultural boundaries.

Sharing her thoughts on social media, Mrunal wrote, “Just finished watching Dashavatar—what a wonderful watch with the family today! The first Marathi blockbuster to win hearts in Malayalam too—this is such a proud moment for Marathi cinema! So happy to see our stories reaching new audiences. @dilip_prabhavalkarsir, legend! @subodhkhanolkar your vision and command over the film doesn’t feel like a debut—it’s incredibly impressive.”

On the work front, Mrunal is gearing up for a strong lineup of projects. In Bollywood, she will next be seen opposite Varun Dhawan in Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, a lighthearted romantic comedy directed by David Dhawan.

According to a report by Filmfare, Mrunal Thakur has officially started shooting for Atlee’s upcoming film AA22xA6, in which she plays one of the leading roles. Sources close to the production revealed that Mrunal will be seen in a pivotal part and recently joined the film’s set in Mumbai, where filming is underway at a specially designed VFX studio. The actress has reportedly begun shooting for an intense action sequence, marking an exciting new phase in her career.

She will also star in Dacoit alongside Adivi Sesh. Directed by Shaneil Deo, the action thriller will release in multiple languages on December 25.
