Madhuri Dixit takes on darkest role of her career

Bollywood’s Dhak Dhak girl Madhuri Dixit is all set to make her grand comeback to the small screen. The actress will star in the upcoming JioHotstar series Mrs Deshpande.

Madhuri dropped a brief but suspenseful teaser that emerged as a turn of events that "no one saw coming." The teaser was captioned, “A twist you won’t see coming. Hotstar Specials: Mrs. Deshpande Coming Soon only on JioHotstar.”

Madhutri posted the 20-second teaser on social media on Wednesday. In the video, Madhuri is seen taking off her jewellery and makeup before the scene cuts to a terrifying shot of her wearing a prison uniform and grinning knowingly. Her daring new persona as a menacing serial killer is one of her darkest roles to date.

Mrs Deshpande is an official remake of the French thriller La Mante. In La Mante, a serial killer is forced into an emotionally charged partnership with her estranged son in order to assist in the capture of a copycat murderer. Directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, the series is backed by Applause Entertainment in association with Kukunoor Movies.

However, further details of the series are yet to be unveiled.

Meanwhile, Madhuri Dixit recently captivated her fans on a world tour that covered six cities, including Toronto, New York, New Jersey, Houston, Chicago, and Boston in Canada and the United States.
