Kartik Aaryan is ready to dive into an entirely new cinematic world with his upcoming film Naagzilla: Naag Lok Ka Pehla Kaand. The film is a creature-comedy that blends mythology, humour, and fantasy. The actor has reportedly wrapped up the poster shoot and promotional content for the film in Mumbai, and the shoot is set to begin on November 1.
According to Pinkvilla, Kartik recently completed the first look and teaser poster shoot, which hints at a quirky yet grand concept centred on shape-shifting serpents. The film marks Kartik’s debut in the creature-comedy genre, a significant shift from his usual romantic and slice-of-life roles.
In Naagzilla, Kartik will portray Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand, an Ichchadhari Naag — a mythical serpent capable of taking human form. The movie promises to blend humour with supernatural elements, creating a fun, family-friendly entertainer. Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, best known for the Fukrey series, the project is already being touted as the potential start of a new cinematic franchise.
The makers have locked August 14, 2026, for the theatrical release, perfectly timed with both Independence Day weekend and the Naag Panchami festival.
While the full cast list remains under wraps, buzz suggests that Ravi Kishan has joined the film. The project also marks Kartik’s second collaboration with producer Karan Johar, following their upcoming film Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, co-starring Ananya Panday.
Apart from Naagzilla, Kartik’s slate looks packed. He’s set to headline a musical romantic drama directed by Anurag Basu and starring Sreeleela. He is also in discussions for two more projects with Shimit Amin and Vishnuvardhan.
