Fresh off the release of Homebound and the excitement around its official entry to the Oscars, Ishaan Khatter has now arrived in Paris for Fashion Week. This comes shortly after his appearance in Milan earlier this month, marking yet another global stop in what has been a remarkable phase in his career.
Ishaan took to Instagram to share a series of photos from his Paris trip, captioning them, “Night in Mumbai Day in Paris.”
His visit to the French capital adds to a whirlwind few weeks where he has balanced film promotion, award season buzz, and high-profile fashion week appearances.
In just a short span of time, Ishaan has taken Homebound from its world premiere at Toronto to receiving global acclaim. The film has been hailed as one of his most powerful performances to date, with many calling it the best of his career.
Homebound, directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, is inspired by a column written by Basharat Peer for The New York Times. Ishaan’s character in the film is loosely based on Saiyub’s life, though Ghaywan reimagined much of the backstory for both his and Vishal Jethwa’s roles.
Talking about the film in an interview with ETimes, Ishaan said, “This film is, I think it's hard to watch, but it's also very necessary. For me, I think it's a very important film for the world, not only just for India right now."
Ishaan also mentioned that from the very beginning, the aim was to create characters with empathy and depth. He explained that the intention was to humanize them, highlighting not just their differences but also the shared sense of humanity.
Ishaan Khatter is receiving widespread acclaim for his role in Neeraj Ghaywan’s Homebound, which has been selected as India’s official entry to the Oscars this year. The film also features Janhvi Kapoor and Vishal Jethwa in prominent roles.
