Is Dhurandhar connected to Uri? Fans decode Jaskirat Singh Rangi's link in Aditya Dhar movies

Dhurandhar and Uri are speculated to be connected

Filmmaker Aditya Dhar made his feature film debut with Uri: The Surgical Strike in 2019. The war action movie, starring Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam, instantly became an internet sensation and had a profound impact on viewers.

Similarly, Aditya Dhar’s latest release, Dhurandhar, was released last week and surpassed all expectations. Particularly, spectators were won over by Ranveer and Akshaye Khanna's varied performances.

Fans now think they've discovered a link between the two Aditya Dhar movies. Arjun Rampal unintentionally revealed the identity of Ranveer Singh's character, Hamza, during the Dhurandhar trailer premiere. Those who saw the movie in theatres this past weekend are already aware that Ranveer goes by Hamza undercover.

However, it is revealed at the end of Dhurandhar that his true name is Jaskirat Singh Rangi.

Along with Ranveer's introduction as Jaskirat, a scene from Uri: The Surgical Strike is currently going viral. In this scene, Kirti Kulhari, as Indian Air Force Flight Lieutenant Seerat Kaur, informs Vicky Kaushal about her husband, Jaskirat Singh Rangi.

Kirti aka Seerat says in the scene, “Husband the. Captain Jaskirat Singh Rangi. Naushera sector ke ambush mein shaheed hue the.”

While the makers have not commented on the connection between Dhurandhar and Uri, fans are eagerly awaiting Dhurandhar 2, which is slated to hit the theatres on March 19, 2026.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar features Ranveer Singh in the central role of Hamza Ali, an undercover operative planted inside the Pakistani mafia by IB chief Ajay Sanyal (R Madhavan). The film marks the first collaboration between Ranveer and Aditya.

The film features an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi.

The film is about an underworld saga following a network of criminals, informants and operatives whose lives intersect, navigating covert operations, espionage and betrayals.
