During the chat, Soha complimented Farah, saying she looks “amazing”. She added, “I don't know if you have always been into feeling good, looking good.” Farah the clarified that her journey had been far from effortless.
“I used to be very thin till I had the kids. I had terrible skin, and I did not even use to go for a blow dry because I was working non-stop. We used to shoot day shifts and night shifts altogether,” Farah shared.
Farah explained that it was only after turning 50 that she began actively prioritising her skin and hair health. “After I hit 50, I visit a skin doctor and regularly take hair vitamins,” she said. She also shared how years of relentless work schedules left her little time for personal care.
The Main Hoon Na director also recalled an incident from a family holiday, where a stranger assumed her husband was her son due to her weight gain. “Once we had taken the kids on holiday, and I was literally overweight, and a lady came. Shirish was there, and she said, ‘Can I clean your room? Can you ask your son (Shirish) to leave?' And Shirish just laughed. He went and told the kids, ‘They thought I was your brother,’” she said.
Talking about her physical transformation, Farah revealed just how long the process took. “After 4-5 years (of giving birth), I had to go and do a tummy tuck surgery because there was so much extra skin,” she admitted. Her journey also involved wellness treatments such as vitamin drips and lymphatic massages.
Farah and Shirish’s love story began in the early 2000s when he worked as the editor of her directorial debut Main Hoon Na. They married in 2004 and welcomed triplets Diva, Anya, and Czar in 2008. Over the years, they’ve collaborated on several projects, including Om Shanti Om, Tees Maar Khan, and Jaan-E-Mann.
Farah’s last directorial venture was Happy New Year (2014). She recently hosted Celebrity MasterChef India and continues to entertain fans with her YouTube series featuring celebrity guests and her cook Dilip.
