Before becoming a household name with superit Dhurandhar, actress Sara Arjun was the face of numerous advertisements, shows, and films on screen as a child artist.
Among the many ads she featured in, one that remained etched in the memories of audiences was the popular “boyfriend-girlfriend” McDonald’s commercial. Years later, the actress revisited that iconic moment by starring in a new McDonald’s advertisement that cleverly recreates the same concept.
In the newly released ad, Sara brings back the familiar “boyfriend-girlfriend” setup but with a modern twist. In the commercial, she is seen humorously talking about how relationships today often come with high expectations. She tells the boy that she is not really interested in getting into a “boyfriend-girlfriend” situation.
However, the boy’s priorities turn out to be far simpler; he just wants the McAloo Tikki burger. Sara then jokingly responds by asking what she is supposed to do while he enjoys the burger, simply stare at him as he eats.
The moment then leads into the introduction of McDonald’s new Buddy Meal offer, which is designed to be shared by two people. Wrapping up the ad on a cheerful note, Sara ends with the brand’s signature line, “I'm loving it!”
Sharing the ad clip on her Instagram, Sara Arjun revisited the ad and called it 'a full circle moment'.
The caption read, "Some journeys come back in the most beautiful ways. My journey began with McDonald’s years ago, and today being the face of the brand, feels surreal. A complete full circle moment. Some things haven’t changed though, my McAloo Tikki is still my favourite!"
"I know so many of you grew up with it just like I did, and it’s honestly so wholesome that we have that in common. This time, doubling the fun with the all-new McDonald’s Buddy Meal for 2 Starting at Rs 119," concluded the caption.
For those who may not remember, the original advertisement that made Sara widely recognizable was released back in 2011. In that commercial, she appeared as a child who asks a boy whether they are “boyfriend-girlfriend.” The boy quickly denies it, explaining that girls usually demand too much in relationships. In response, young Sara charmingly clarifies that she only wants the Tikki burger. The adorable exchange made the ad hugely popular at the time and continues to be remembered fondly by viewers.
The recreated version has now brought back a wave of nostalgia among fans who grew up watching the original ad. Soon after Sara shared the clip online, the comment section was filled with messages from people recalling the memorable moment.

Meanwhile, recently Sara Arjun has captured everyone's hearts with her performance as Yalina in Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar starring alongside Ranveer Singh. She will next be seen in its sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge set to release on March 19.
