The makers of the much-anticipated film Ikkis, led by Agastya Nanda, have released a striking new poster featuring veteran actor Dharmendra while also announcing the film’s official release date. The fresh poster has generated significant buzz, especially because it highlights Dharmendra in an emotionally powerful role.

In the film, Dharmendra plays the father of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the young and valiant soldier portrayed by Agastya Nanda.

While sharing the poster on social media, the team wrote, "Fathers raise sons. Legends raise nations. Dharmendra ji, an emotional powerhouse as the father of a 21-year-old immortal soldier. One timeless legend brings us the story of another." The caption reflects the emotional depth and patriotic spirit the film aims to showcase.

Along with Dharmendra’s poster, the makers also released another update confirming the film’s arrival in theatres.

Their post read, "On 25th December, bravery marches into cinemas. Witness the untold true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India's youngest Param Vir Chakra hero. #IkkisTrailerOutNow - Link in bio. #Ikkis in cinemas worldwide this Christmas." The announcement has intensified excitement among audiences eagerly waiting for Sriram Raghavan’s next big story.

Directed by filmmaker Sriram Raghavan and produced by Maddock Films under the banner of Dinesh Vijan, Ikkis also stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Sikander Kher in significant roles.

The film is based on the true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, one of India’s most courageous young soldiers. At just 21 years old, Khetarpal laid down his life during the Battle of Basantar in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. His extraordinary bravery earned him the Param Vir Chakra posthumously, making him the youngest recipient of India’s highest gallantry award at that time. Ikkis aims to honour his memory by bringing his lesser-known but heroic journey to the big screen.

Agastya Nanda steps into the role of Arun Khetarpal. The young actor, grandson of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan and son of Shweta Bachchan, made his debut in Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix musical The Archies.
