Actor Chandrachur Singh, who rose to fame from Shah Rukh Khan’s film Josh, has recently landed in a legal dispute over his ancestral haveli and other family properties in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.
The actor revealed that his own family members are trying to seize these assets without the required authorisation. This has led him to seek official intervention from district authorities.
Chandrachur was spotted at the District Magistrate’s office along with his mother on Wednesday to present his case. He had also submitted formal documentation regarding the matter.
According to PTI, Chandrachur’s mother, Krishna Kumari Devi, was also present during the meeting. The authorities will examine all the submitted documents before determining the next step.
Chandrachur Singh’s family background
For the unversed, Chandrachur belongs to a significant public service and royal family background.
The actor’s father, Baldev Singh, is a former MLA from Khair, Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, the actor’s mother, Krishna Kumari Devi, is the daughter of the Maharaja of Bolangir in Odisha.

Chandrachur Singh pursued his studies at The Doon School, Dehradun. He then attended St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. He initially pursued civil services, preparing for UPSC examinations, but later transitioned his focus to a career in acting.
Chandrachur made his acting debut with the 1996 film Tere Mere Sapne. He received praise for his performance in Maachis. He later gained recognition for his performance in movies like Kya Kehna, Daag: The Fire, Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya, Betaabi, among others. The actor has lately taken a hiatus from acting.
