Global K-pop sensation BTS has officially unveiled the trailer for their upcoming documentary BTS: The Return, offering fans an intimate look into the making of their much-awaited comeback album Arirang.
Set to release on March 20, Arirang marks the group’s first full-length album since all members completed their mandatory military service in South Korea. The comeback has been eagerly anticipated by fans worldwide, as it signals the band’s return after years of hiatus.
Netflix released the preview clip on Monday, featuring all seven members — RM, Jin, Jimin, V, Suga, J-Hope and Jung Kook — as they reflect on their time apart and what it means to reunite as a group.
With a mix of emotional scenes alongside high-energy performance scenes, the upcoming documentary promises fans a behind-the-scenes look as BTS reunites to forge their next chapter.
As scenes of BTS performing in front of huge crowds flash up on the screen, a voiceover is heard summarizing their relationship: “Being part of a team like BTS is like wearing a big, incredible crown,” alongside another touching line: “We are finally back where we’re meant to be.”
The upcoming documentary is set to premiere on Netflix on March 27, providing fans with a further insight into their process.
The trailer also offers glimpses of the band in Los Angeles, where they regrouped to work on their first album in over five years. Speaking about the experience, RM shares, “In the military, time just passed by, but here in L.A., you really feel the impermanence of time. And we’re trying to find out what makes us BTS.”
Once the last member completed his military service, all seven artists moved to Los Angeles in mid-2025 to start their projects, including "Arirang," which is considered a major milestone in their comeback process.

This gigantic display, which is 90 meters wide, 21 meters high, and covers an area of 1,890 square meters, shows off the strong message, "Born in Korea, Play for the World." This visual treat is happening just a few days before BTS’s much-awaited comeback concert takes place in this area.
